The Rongai Route is the only northern approach route to Mount Kilimanjaro's summit, starting near the Kenyan border. It experiences significantly less rainfall, making it the preferred route during the wetter months. It offers a quieter, true wilderness experience in its early stages before merging with the Marangu route at Kibo Hut, descending via the scenic Marangu trail.
